ABOUT EMMA

Emma has been a lifelong lover of animals both big and small. She grew up surrounded by animals including her own personal pets and caring for others companions; even goats, sheep and horse on Cape Cod, MA. Leaving the oceans for mountains, Emma went on to attend the University of Vermont. In 2021, Emma Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Animal and Veterinary Science.

During her time at UVM, Emma continued growing her experience working with dogs. She also began managing a small local Polo Pony barn. Post graduation, Emma entered the world of dog training and behavior modification through Vermont Dog Behavior (formally Dogs Rock! Vermont).

Emma then took the next step and obtained professional certification in dog training through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) before launching Black Jack Dog Training.

Today, you can find her still managing the Polo barn and expanding her understanding of the game. You will also find her all around Chittenden county working with her own dog Jet or just enjoying all Vermont has to offer. Emma is a dog nerd at heart and strives to continue her own education through Dog Training and Behavior conferences and workshops.

At Black Jack Dog Training, Emma strives to help dog owners in Vermont feel comfortable navigating the world with their canine companions.

ABOUT JET

Meet Jet! He  is a 4-year-old Shepherd Mix who lives each day to the fullest. He keeps us on our toes and always encourages us to get our feet wet (whether that be a puddle or river). While ball is life and snuggle time is a must, he also enjoys his time meeting new friends, destroying every new soccer or basketball and chasing the squirrels out of his yard each morning. We are so grateful for this trusting helper dog who is always ready to assist in our training journey.
